Get wild with a ticket to make your own bushcraft knife

Get your ticket to make your own bushcraft knife. Join Fraser Wood Elements and Jay Fox Knives this April for an immersive three-part workshop. Build your very own custom bushcraft knife from start to finish.

Each ticket grants you access to three Saturday sessions (April 12, 19, & 26), hosted at Fraser Wood Elements in downtown Fredericksburg, VA. You’ll work side-by-side with professional knife maker Jay Fox. He will walk you through each stage of the process. Choose your blade and handle materials. Assemble, sand, and finish the final piece.

  • April 12th:  Blade selection & handle design. You’ll choose from an assortment of pre-forged blade blanks. These are ideal for bushcraft, camping, fishing, and even chef-style applications. You’ll also learn about a range of handle materials such as exotic hardwoods, colorful resins, antler, and bone. Get an overview of essential tools and supplies needed for handle attachment and finishing.
  • April 19th: Assembly & hands-on construction begins. You’ll learn how to lay out your handle design, place pins, and prepare the materials for bonding. Under expert instruction, you’ll shape your handle scales and use epoxy to bring the components together with both strength and precision.
  • April 26th: Polishing & finishing techniques. You’ll sand the handle to a smooth profile, apply stains or waxes, and sharpen the blade. By the end, you’ll have a handcrafted bushcraft knife that’s ready to use or proudly display.
